Delta is intensifying its presence in German airspace by launching a new service from Munich to New York-JFK from April 2024. This comes amid an overall network expansion that is increasing access to popular US destinations.

Expansion of the network with a view to the United States

Delta, the renowned American airline, has reached a significant milestone in its corporate history.

“The expansion of our route network, which will soon take passengers non-stop from Munich to three destinations in the US, is a significant step for us,” announced Matteo Curcio, Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.

Between Munich and New York: More than just a flight

This new service from Munich to New York-JFK, which will operate three times a week, will undoubtedly boost trade and tourism between the two cities. According to Curcio, it “not only promotes trade and tourism between the two cities, but also offers expanded travel options with non-stop convenience and connections to some 70 destinations across the Americas”.

On board the Boeing 767-400: An unparalleled travel experience

For those flying with Delta, the airline promises a unique in-flight experience. Travellers can choose between different classes such as Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ or the Main Cabin, while enjoying “an extensive food and beverage offering” that includes both snack specialities and premium drinks. And who says flying has to be boring? The extensive entertainment on offer ensures that “time flies”.

A win-win situation for Munich and Delta

This route expansion is not only a benefit for the airline, but also for Munich Airport. Jost Lammers, CEO Flughafen München GmbH (FMG), expressed his excitement about this development and emphasised the importance of the new connection as a complement to the existing routes to Atlanta and Detroit.

Germany’s gateway to America

Delta does not stand still. With 46 weekly flights between Germany and the USA during the high season, the airline offers a comprehensive range of services covering cities such as Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Berlin. It is clear that Delta’s expansion benefits not only the company itself, but also German travellers and the aviation industry as a whole.
