Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection

The Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection, celebrates Hungary’s rich history and culture in every way. As the first of its kind in Hungary, the hotel offers a fascinating fusion of historical grandeur and modern chic, a place where tradition and modern elegance form a harmonious symphony.

A historical jewel

Named after Archduchess Dorothea, a key figure of the 19th century, the Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection combines the charm of Hungary’s golden age with modernity. It is located in three historical buildings in Budapest’s famous 5th district, which have been skilfully restored. This extraordinary hotel takes its guests on an impressive journey through time, woven from captivating stories and unforgettable experiences.

Architectural masterpieces and design

“Every Autograph Collection hotel tells a unique story,” explains Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium and Select Brands, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

The Dorothea Hotel is no exception. Designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni, the hotel harmonises perfectly with the historical and modern elements of its structure. The three buildings – Weber, Mahart and Munnich – represent different eras and have been carefully restored with respect for their original character.

An interior that breathes history

The 216 rooms and suites of the Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection are divided into two design categories: “contemporary and cultural heritage”. While the contemporary rooms exude modern elegance, the culturally characterised rooms, especially in the Weber building, reflect the historical essence of Budapest. One highlight is the presidential suite, which boasts a breathtaking 270-degree view and a wraparound terrace.

Culinary experiences and unique accents

The centrepiece of the hotel, the inner courtyard, is home to the Pavilon Restaurant & Bar, where chef Carmine di Luggo delights with farm-to-table dishes. “The Mark” of the Dorothea Hotel, a green herb wall, pays tribute to Count Palatine Joseph and adds a special touch to the dishes and cocktails. In addition, guests can soon expect two new restaurants under the management of three-star chef Dani García.
