The Fürstliche Gartenfest Schloss Wolfsgarten opens its doors for a weekend full of botanical masterpieces, culinary discoveries and top-class culture. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Langen near Frankfurt am Main, the event will be a meeting place for garden lovers, culinary fans and culture enthusiasts.
Historical backdrop meets modern garden trends
The Fürstliche Gartenfest is far more than a simple garden exhibition; it is an exquisite event that takes place on the historic grounds of Wolfsgarten Castle. From 15 to 17 September, visitors will witness a late-summer idyll in extensive parks and can admire the estate’s historic tree population. As the press text aptly points out: “Autumnal blossom splendour and late summer atmosphere against a special backdrop.”
Versatile range of topics: The Great Garden School
This year, the Princely Garden Festival places special emphasis on education and knowledge exchange. Under the motto “The Great Garden School”, not only magnificent plants and lovingly designed show gardens are presented. Petra Pelz, an authority in her field, offers a workshop on “Beautiful gardens despite drought”. Cassian Schmidt and the Excellent Young Gardeners scholarship holders carry out a step-by-step planting of the poppy garden, “from planning to implementation”.
High culture in the open air: The supporting programme
In cooperation with the district of Offenbach and supported by the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain and the Kultursommer Südhessen, the garden festival puts on an impressive cultural programme. Sandra Kegel from the FAZ moderates the “Garden Talks” with renowned experts. Music lovers can enjoy concerts ranging from jazz to Jewish and Israeli music.
Over 170 exhibitors: A paradise for plant lovers
The selection of exhibitors at the Princely Garden Festival is impressive. From hand-picked nurseries specialising in pome, stone and soft fruit to nurseries working according to Bioland guidelines, there is something for everyone. And it’s not just about plants: Those with a penchant for individual fashion will find what they are looking for at De Nordecce, where waxed English cotton is used to make wrap skirts and other garments.
Culinary journey through the garden
The culinary offerings at the Princely Garden Festival also leave little to be desired. “From oriental falafel to original Italian pizza from the stone oven to truffle products and fine spices, everyone will find something to their liking,” says the press release.
A feast for all the senses
The Fürstliche Gartenfest Schloss Wolfsgarten is not just an event; it is an experience. From the didactic focus with the “Great Garden School” to the diverse culinary and cultural supporting programme, the festival offers an unforgettable experience for every visitor. And all this in the breathtaking setting of Wolfsgarten Castle – a place that is only open to the public on a few days a year. A visit is more than recommended; it is a must for anyone who appreciates the subtle nuances of life.
