Caro & Selig Tegernsee: A hotel that reinterprets Bavarian tradition

In March 2023, the Caro & Selig, Tegernsee, Autograph Collection opened in the heart of the town of Tegernsee – an urban hotel that interprets Bavarian tradition in a modern way. The luxurious hotel is part of the “Quartier Tegernsee” and only a few minutes walk from the lake. Inspired by the life and work of the warm-hearted Queen Caroline of Baden, who came to Bavaria at the end of the 18th century and devoted herself to charity, Caro & Selig was born.

Culinary highlights at Caro & Selig

The hotel’s own restaurant “FREYHEIT” attaches great importance to regionality and uses fresh, local ingredients. Chef Sebastian Neiderhell combines traditional Bavarian cuisine with international influences to create exceptional grilled dishes.

The impressive roof terrace “NI BAR”.

The heart of the hotel is the 380 square meter roof terrace “NI BAR”, which offers a breathtaking view of the Alps. Guests can relax here and enjoy the view while being served signature drinks and matching appetizers.

After a long day in nature, guests can relax in the hotel’s wellness area. You can work out in the fitness room, swim in the indoor pool or relax in the sauna and steam room.

Comfortable rooms and suites

The 125 rooms and suites of the Caro & Selig are characterized by warmth and coziness. The furnishings are made of traditional materials such as loden, leather and wood, and much of the wooden furniture was specially made for the hotel by a regional carpenter’s workshop.

Elegant color concept and rooms flooded with light

The rooms of the Caro & Selig are characterized by a restrained-elegant color concept that combines the Bavarian colors white and blue with stylish details in light gray and gold. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide brightness, while the curved shape of the hotel creates rounded walls inside, creating a cozy atmosphere. Each room at Caro & Selig has its own balcony, from which guests can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains, the city or the lake.
