Green Globe logo holders commit to improving their sustainability goals annually. The certification was awarded to Baglioni Resort Maldives following a recent audit in which it achieved the highest ranking among all resorts in the Maldives.

Environmental protection measures and cooperation with Parley Global Cleanup Network
The resort is committed to measures such as reducing single-use plastic and cooperates with the Parley Global Cleanup Network initiative. The goal is to work with local businesses and organizations to rid beaches, remote islands, mangroves and coastal communities of plastic waste. The network is active in 30 countries and also promotes education and government engagement to achieve sustainable change.
Coral reef protection through the Reef Restoration Coral Project.
The resort is also committed to the protection of coral reefs. Together with Maagau Dive Center, the resort has launched the Reef Restoration Coral Project. Guests can participate in a variety of ways and learn more about the fascinating underwater ecosystem. A marine biologist is on hand to provide comprehensive information, and dive-licensed guests can work with marine biologists to collect damaged corals and attach them to special frames so they can thrive again.
