Design and comfort in the new Ibis Hotel Dortmund City
Ibis Hotel Dortmund City, is a modern and comfortable starting point for all travelers. The hotel, located on Märkische Strasse, has had its place in the LFPI Hospitality Group portfolio since May 2022.
A gateway to the city
The hotel impresses with its central location, perfect for business travelers, trade fair visitors, tourists and of course soccer fans. With 97 elegant rooms, an impressive lobby, an in-house hotel bar and underground parking, the hotel offers a full range of amenities.
Ibis Hotel Dortmund City offers inspiring design
The hotel’s sophisticated design comes from the Brazilian architectural firm FGMF Arquitetos, which developed the PLAZA concept. The goal of this concept is to transform the lobby into an urban hub that welcomes guests and neighborhood alike.

The lobby presents itself as an open gallery of different areas, all connected by a shelving system made of black steel profiles and wood, a universal design element that runs throughout the lobby and serves as a buffet, table, shelf or bench as needed. Not to be forgotten is the Ibis Music Corner, a charming feature that invites guests to make music.
Luxurious guest rooms
The industrial style continues in the 97 guest rooms, characterized by angular wood and metal elements. The multi-purpose shelf can be found here as well, providing ample space for personal items next to a bright desk right by the window.
Challenging renovation
Despite the challenges of an extensive renovation while the hotel remained operational, the team, led by Director Dalibor Cavara, succeeded in gutting and refurbishing the hotel in record time.
Ibis Hotel Dortmund City: Inviting hotel bar
The hotel bar serves as the centerpiece of the lobby and can be transformed into a public viewing stand during soccer matches. Local beer and black and yellow armchairs in homage to the local soccer club complete the offer.
Cooperation with experts
The project was implemented by the renowned Düsseldorf architectural firm Dreesen und Partner. They mastered the challenge of putting the PLAZA design concept into practice and created a unique ambience at the Ibis Dortmund City.
