OBLU SELECT Lobigili Maldives: Adults-only resort celebrates birthday
In March 2022, the COLOURS OF OBLU hotel brand opened its first adults-only hotel in the Maldives: the five-star OBLU SELECT Lobigili resort. The concept enjoyed great popularity among guests from all over the world and the island earned its name, Lobigili, which means “island of love” in the local language Dhivehi.
Impressive guest numbers and special moments
Since opening a year ago, 16,482 couples from 45 countries have visited the resort, including 6,633 guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland (as of March 16, 2023). Lobigili celebrated 46 marriage proposals, 14 vow renewal ceremonies and 2,216 honeymoons. Guests also enjoyed 16 private sunset dinners on the beach and 677 times were served a floating breakfast in their villa’s private pool.
Popular underwater restaurant ONLY BLU
The stunning underwater restaurant ONLY BLU also enjoyed great popularity. Since its opening on June 14, 2022, 4,439 guests have visited the stunning restaurant, located deep in the Indian Ocean.
Exclusive location and modern accommodations
The OBLU SELECT Lobigili, the first adults-only resort of the COLOURS OF OBLU brand, is one of a total of four properties in the Maldives. It is located in Malé Atoll, just 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. The resort offers a total of 68 modern villas, located either on the beach or over the water. The accommodations, ranging in size from 74 to 77 square meters, impress with their modern design, stylish outdoor bathrooms, large verandas or terraces and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean. Of the 24 beach villas and half of the 44 water villas also have their own pool.
Extensive facilities for an unforgettable stay
The island houses a spa, gym, large infinity pool with beach bar, food truck and two restaurants, including ONLY BLU Underwater Restaurant, considered the newest and largest of its kind in the Maldives. In order to provide guests with an all-around carefree vacation, island hostesses and chiefs are available for all personal requests and bookings.

The resort offers the Lobi Plan™, which allows for a carefree stay with generous inclusive services. This includes exceptional fine dining, an extensive beverage selection and a daily freshly stocked minibar. For stays of four nights or more, a gourmet menu in the underwater restaurant and a spa treatment are also included.
