Maslina Resort focuses on sustainability and follows the motto “Mindful Luxury”. The simple architecture blends perfectly with the surroundings and regional building materials such as stone and wood are used. The hotel also manages its own 7,000-square-meter garden and implements the “farm-to-table” concept. Seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs are grown here and then served in the Michelin-recommended restaurant. Pharamatiq Spa grows its own lavender, immortelle, rosemary and sage for the wellness treatments it offers. These are transformed into toxin-free cosmetics on site by specialists. In addition, the hotel is also committed to preserving the nature that surrounds it. There are initiatives such as reforestation, the protection of native species and the installation of solar panels to reduce energy consumption by about 120,000 kWh per year. Other initiatives include the complete elimination of plastic, the use of saltwater electrolysis to power the pools, and a biofilter to treat the hotel’s wastewater.

Signing of the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge

Maslina Resort is proud to announce the signing of the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge. This is an annual pledge that allows the travel industry to publicly commit to preserving the environment and outline steps it is taking to preserve cultural heritage and nature and what it is doing to achieve sustainable development goals. Maslina Resort, as a signatory, can expand its knowledge of sustainable measures while sharing its own “best practices”. The surrounding communities and the preservation of local culture are also particularly close to Maslina’s heart. Maslina is part of the Island Movement Foundation, a charity that helps islands throughout Dalmatia convert to renewable energy sources. Their new online education platform provides islanders with quick access to all the information they need to initiate and actively shape the energy transition on the Croatian islands.
