The culinary team, consisting of Chef Kieran Whyte and Culinary Director Peter Tempelhoff, takes guests on a journey through modern South African cuisine. Exquisite wines from the in-house Wine Gallery perfectly complement every dish. Since 2020, rooms have also been converted into Sleep Rooms to promote deep sleep for guests.

Inverroche Gin Academy
The Inverroche Gin Academy recently opened at Ellerman House, offering guests of the luxury hideaway the opportunity to experience the distillation process firsthand and experiment with South African flavors and aromas. Every Thursday evening, guests are introduced to the art of gin making, from selecting Fynbos botanicals to bottling their own personal creation.
The collaboration between Ellerman House and Inverroche
Since 2020, Ellerman House has partnered with Inverroche, a fine distillery founded by Lorna Scott and known for its use of fynbos plants. The exclusive Ellerman House Botany Bay Gin combines the flavors and aromas of the endemic garden that surrounds the boutique hotel. Lorna Scott personally collected sprigs of confetti bush and blossoms of musk rose for the ingredient selection during her wanderings around Bantry Bay, and now returns to the luxury hotel for the launch of the Gin Academy.
