Experience Italian cuisine in a new way – Restaurant Sicilia in Charlottenburg, Berlin

With its unique Italian flair, the recently opened Sicilia restaurant brings a touch of Sicily to the heart of Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Even before it opened, the restaurant in Knesebeckstraße, not far from the famous Ku’damm, attracted a lot of attention. With lemon trees dominating the interior and yellow and white striped furnishings, it is a homage to the fruit that will win many fans when they try the homemade limoncello.

Rashdan, known for his expertise in Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine, emphasises: “We love Italy and its culinary treasures, but we also integrate the diversity of Berlin’s local produce into our dishes.”

The menu at Sicilia

The menu at “Sicilia” is a symphony of flavour and creativity. Classics such as caponata are reinterpreted with preserved lemon and parsley oil and served on burrata from Brandenburg. Mustard seeds, apple and pancetta add a surprising flavour to parsnip soup. The red wine ravioli with ossobuco filling and parmesan sauce are a prime example of Italian comfort food. Seasonal dishes, including truffle tagliatelle or venison fillet with cherry jus and Jerusalem artichoke purée, enrich the changing menu.

A total work of art

The “Sicilia” is not only a culinary experience, but also a visual one. The wall tiles, hand-painted by the neighbouring Santana art and ceramics studio, and the memorable tableware from KPM are testament to local craftsmanship. The ambience is reminiscent of a colourful market day in Sicily. Restaurant manager and sommelier Yannick Kern, responsible for the selection of over 200 wines, mainly from Italian wineries, rounds off the experience.

The “Sicilia” also offers an unforgettable experience for special occasions. On New Year’s Eve, for example, guests can enjoy an exquisite Sorpresa menu with eight courses and a selection of wines and sparkling wines. The menu, designed to be shared by two people, costs 169 euros per person, including food and drinks.
