The opening of the W Budapest: W Hotels debuts in Hungary

W Budapest

W Hotels Worldwide, an integral part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, announces its debut in Hungary. In July 2023, W Budapest will open its doors in the venerable Drechsler Palace. This icon of architecture, formerly home to the Ballet Institute, will now become a luxury hotel that promises to be as diverse and collaborative as the city of Budapest itself.

United design and diverse gastronomy

“With its rich architectural and historical heritage, Budapest offers an eclectic mix of cultural influences and gastronomic experiences that make it the perfect destination for our first hotel in Hungary,” said Jenni Benzaquen, SVP Europe, Middle East and Africa Brand Portfolio at Marriott International.

Historical palace on Andrássy Street

The newly designed Drechsler Palace is located on the luxurious Andrássy Street, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The W Budapest includes 151 individually designed rooms and suites, including the spectacular Extreme WOW (Presidential) Suite. Each accommodation bears witness to the rich history, creativity and diversity that characterize Budapest.

Exclusive experiences at the W Budapest

The W Budapest strives to delight and connect with its guests. It achieves this through exclusive experiences such as the hotel’s custom-designed bar, the redesigned W Lounge and innovative, locally inspired promotions. One highlight is the Asian-inspired Nightingale restaurant, which takes its name from Stravinsky’s opera of the same name.

Unification of the dynamics of Buda and Pest

“Our goal is to combine the dynamism and creativity of this city’s social culture with the unique energy of the W brand. The W Budapest brings the contrast between Buda and Pest to life and blends it through the hotel’s aesthetic, creating a fascinating interplay between the hotel’s design elements. We can’t wait to introduce our impressive new offering to guests and locals alike now that bookings are available,” said Igor Buercher, General Manager, W Budapest.
