The spring-like temperatures attract nature lovers and vacationers to the Upper Bavarian foothills of the Alps. The newly published hiking map shows 98 varied tours of theme trails, leisurely hikes and mountain tours. The map is divided into a north and a south side, so you can easily find the right way. QR codes and information boxes give you more details on how to get there, mobility and special offers such as family-friendly or barrier-free routes.

Chiemsee-Alpenland Hiking: Experience the beauty of nature

A special tour is the hiking trail of the senses, which leads from Maxhofen to Kleinhöhenrain. On this approximately one and a half hour hike, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Mangfall and Inn valleys, pass through different types of forests and strengthen your immune system. Once at the top, you will be rewarded by a spectacular panorama with 80 peaks and the Alps in the background.

The Geigelstein: A flowery hike to the “flower mountain

The Geigelstein, also known as the “Flower Mountain”, offers a hike of about eight hours through the species-rich nature reserve with rustic alpine pastures and regional delicacies. The summit offers a unique panoramic view far into the Austrian mountains, the Kaisergebirge and the Inn and Schleching valleys.

Flower paradise on the Herreninsel

The almost 9-kilometer hike around Herreninsel takes you through impressive flower paradises and offers a picturesque view of Lake Chiemsee, the mountains behind it and the magnificent Herrenchiemsee Castle. The gardens of the castle impress with over 25,000 young plants in yellow, orange and white.

Barrier-free walk on Fraueninsel island

The barrier-free walk around Fraueninsel offers a half-hour tour along the Frauenwörth Monastery, the island cemetery and one of the oldest buildings in Bavaria, the Torhalle. Here you can find peace and recharge your batteries.

Kunstmühle Rosenheim: On the trail of culture

The approximately 5-kilometer-long walking trail along the Rosenheim Art Mill takes you through the history of the region. Visit the art mill, the exhibition center “Lokschuppen Rosenheim” and enjoy a stop at the in-house pizzeria.
